The PACE Bowl is a performance type of competition that gives students the opportunity to showcase the academic areas they have mastered. The PACE Bowl competition of the National Student Convention in the Philippines is different from the International Student Convention in content and implementation.


COMPETITION GUIDELINES

• TEAM SIZE 鈥� Each team must consist of 4 members. They will use official answer sheets provided by SOT庐P and bring their own pens/pencils.
• ASSIGNED PERSONNEL 鈥� Each team will be assigned one proctor and a number. Teams should also have a coach or sponsor.
• QUESTION PRESENTATION 鈥� Questions will be read twice and displayed on the screen. Teams can start writing their answers while the question is being read.
• TIME LIMIT 鈥� A 5-second countdown begins after the second reading. For word problems needing solutions, contestants have 15 seconds. Otherwise, the proctor will specify the time limit. For word problems, the solution is not necessary.  Only the final answer will be considered.
• SPELLING and NAMES 鈥� Incorrect spelling counts as a wrong answer. Also, if the name of a person is asked, the answer should be complete with the first and last name.
• SUBMISSION TIME 鈥� All pens/pencils should be raised after the time limit signal.
• ANSWER PRESENTATION 鈥� The correct answers will be read and shown on the screen.
• SCORING 鈥� Each team will be given one point for each correct answer. Proctors should raise the team number only if the answer is exact. Each correct answer earns one point.
• DISPUTED ANSWERS AND APPEALS 鈥� If a team believes their answer is correct, the proctor can approach the judges after exact answers have been scored. Any question or contention must be addressed to the judges during the contest.
• FINALITY 鈥� The judges鈥� decision is final.
• POST-CONTEST APPEALS 鈥� No queries and appeals will be entertained after the winners are declared.
• SELECTION OF TOP TEAMS 鈥� The top 6 teams with the highest points after 30 questions will be chosen.
• TIE-BREAKER 鈥� In case of a tie, tie-breaker questions will be given for ranking. 鈥淪udden death鈥� will decide the outcome.
• ANSWER SHEETS 鈥� After the last question, the proctor must record the final score, team number, and sign over his printed name on the answer sheets. They will be collected with the number cards.
• GADGETS 鈥� Audience must keep their gadgets on silent mode. Contestants and proctors should not have any type of gadgets during the contest.

鈥� Tchoukball players will not be permitted to join the Basketball or Volleyball team roster and vice versa. Also, there should always be 2 female players in play.

ARTS

1. Artwork in Colored Pencils, Pen and Ink, Sketching, Watercolor, and Pastels should be properly framed AND with glass.

2. Artwork in Acrylics may either be with or without glass.

3. Artwork in Oil should be framed WITHOUT glass.

4. No 鈥渕ixed-media鈥� artwork may be submitted.

5. Pen and Ink are MONOCHROMATIC 鈥� this means only ONE color of ink should be used.

6. ALL artwork should measure no more than 36 inches (3 feet) on any side, INCLUDING FRAME, and must be ready to hang with wire hangers.

7. Make sure all artwork which features people follows convention guidelines for appearance and dress code (no sleeveless shirts, shorts, pants on women, open shoes/slippers, etc.)

8. All artwork must be submitted with a 3鈥� x 5鈥� card and ONE (1) EXHIBIT AFFIDAVIT; both should be securely attached at the back of each artwork.

9. THREE (3) COPIES OF THE JUDGE鈥橲 FORMS ARE REQUIRED.

10. All entries must be done in realistic style. NO ABSTRACT, SURREAL OR CARTOON styles.

11. No artwork should attempt to portray the face of Christ.

NEEDLE AND THREAD

I. For FEMALE contestants ONLY.

II. For Cross-Stitch and Embroidery: No stamped cross-stitch / 鈥榩unch and sew鈥� embroidery will be accepted. Pictures must be framed without glass. The back of all work must be accessible for judging.

III. Follow convention guidelines, INCLUDING SUBMISSION OF THREE (3) JUDGE鈥橲 FORMS AND ALL REPORTS AND PATTERNS. Include 3鈥� x 5鈥� card and ONE (1) EXHIBIT AFFIDAVIT. Incomplete and/or unfinished items WILL NOT BE JUDGED.

PLEASE REFER TO THE PLATFORM鈥橲 GENERAL GUIDELINES BEFORE PREPARING FOR THIS ENTRY

The purpose of this contest is to train students to organize and deliver an unscripted story from the Bible. This platform event should especially appeal to those who are gifted or interested in the art of spontaneous storytelling as opposed to the Illustrative Storytelling event, which is prepared and memorized ahead of time. In Bible Storytelling, the story must NOT be memorized nor be read.

FIVE BIBLE STORIES FOR THE 32^nd NATIONAL STUDENT CONVENTION

• David Made King (2 Samuel 3:1 鈥� 5:4 | I Chronicles 11:1-3) –  
• Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-16) –  
• The Trial of Abraham (Genesis 22:1-24) –

GUIDELINES

1. The contestant tells a story from the Bible. Five Bible stories will be provided by 网曝吃瓜, for preparation purposes. During the competition proper, each contestant will be drawing ONE STORY from a bowl containing the five stories before the introduction.
2. The contestant will indicate to the judges to which age group he/she is speaking.
3. Costumes are not allowed.
4. Hand movements and facial expressions are allowed but dramatization is prohibited (the performer shall not use any props and shall remain in one location).
5. The duration of the story shall not exceed 6 minutes and the minimum is four (4) minutes. If competition piece does not meet the four (4) minutes minimum or exceeds the six (6) minutes maximum time limit, the contestant will receive a .5-point deduction for any portion of thirty (30) second increments outside the allotted time.
6. Storytelling shall be graded on the following criteria:
   A. Content 鈥� How well the story adheres to the Biblical passages it is taken from and appropriateness to the target audience.
           I. Effectiveness of overall narrative (1-10) points
           II. Story appropriateness to target audience (1-10)
           III. Flow of the story (1-10)
   B. Clarity 鈥� Enunciation and pronunciation of words and voice strength.
          I. Enunciation (1-5)
          II. Pronunciation/Diction (1-10)
          III. Voice projection and inflection (1-5)
   C. Presentation 鈥� Delivery, audience contact, body language, and gestures.
          I. Approach/departure (1-5)
          II. Posture and gesture (1-10)
          III. Poise/self-confidence (1-5)
          IV. Facial expressions (1-10)
          V. Audience rapport (1-10)Delivery (1-5)
   D. Proper documentation submitted (1-5)
7. Scoring of the judges will be final.

This contest will be conducted in writing, and contestants will have 45 minutes to complete the quiz.

APPEARANCE & DRESS CHECK

All contestants are to abide by the appearance standard and dress codes for non-athletic events listed in SECTION I of the SCHOOL OF TOMORROW庐 STUDENT CONVENTION GUIDELINES.  (Suits or sports coats are optional.)

WRITTEN QUIZ

Each contestant will be given a WRITTEN QUIZ and will be assigned a desk/seat.  There are four types of questions.

• Give the Verse 鈥� Given a reference, the contestant is expected to choose the correct verse.
• Give the Reference 鈥� Given a complete verse, the contestant is expected to write the book, chapter, and verse.
• Choose the Category 鈥� Given a complete verse and its reference, the contestant is expected to indicate the specific category (e.g., Salvation, Prayer, Soulwinning, etc.) to which each verse belongs.
• Quote 鈥� Given a reference, the contestant is expected to write the verse.

GENERAL RULES

• The King James Version only (not any other version) will be used.
• All Scripture references are taken from the official list found on pages II-2 to II-4 of the SCHOOL OF TOMORROW庐 STUDENT CONVENTION GUIDELINES.
• There is no penalty for punctuation errors.
• Wrong spelling is wrong, as well as wrong capitalizations or non-capitalizations.
• When a response requires a specific verse, the verse must be verbatim.
• Do not abbreviate the names of the books of the Bible.  Abbreviations will be considered wrong.
• No appeal will be entertained after the winners have been announced and awarded.

CONTEST RULES

• The contestant should provide pencils (at least 2), eraser, and pencil sharpener for himself or herself.  Contestants coming to the contest without the tools they need may be disqualified from the contest.
• Once the contest has started, no contestant may go out to take a break, or for any other reason.
• Late contestants may still compete and answer the written quiz but only until the specified time limit.
• Contestants may submit their written quizzes as soon as they are done.  Submitted written quizzes may not be taken back by the contestant for any purpose.

POINT SYSTEM

The point distribution for each category is as follows:

• Give the Verse: 1 point for each correct answer.
• Give the Reference: 3 points for each correct answer.
• Choose the Category: 1 point for each correct answer.
• Quote: 5 points for each correct answer

TIE-BREAKER

Should contestants tie, tie breaking will be announced within the day.

BASIS FOR DISQUALIFICATION

Cheating (in any form or manner).  Students should not talk to anybody during the contest lest they be accused of cheating.

To help facilitate judging, the following ENTRIES MUST BE UPLOADED IN YOUR GOOGLE DRIVE NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 19, 2025. Entries will be judged prior to the National Student Convention and winners MUST be present during the convention to receive their medals.
